Beautiful view of the city and the narrows.
Down town is not visible, as it is so steep. It starts from the two towers of the Basilica, and straight down into the sea!
You see signal hill to the left, and the MUN University campus just below the trees.

And so we did! Dragged Andrew along with me as moral support and "local expert", and into the white forest we went! We forgot to check out the different trails on the map, so we just walked! And of course we got kind of lost, and ended up on top of the park, with a beautiful view of the city and the ocean!
With some common sense and some natural sende of directions, we made it back to the car! Nice hike in the sun!

And the evening was spent knitting and eating pizza with Torill! Our third knitting Sunday on a row. We are missing one team member tonight, Therese is in New York! But she will be back soon, to continue working on her headband!

So all in all a really nice Sunday in St John's!

A beautiful Sunday in SJ! It's so beautiful that I think a walk in the big park would be a good idea!

The snow made it into my garage!

I have a 1cm crack under my garage door! Needless to say, we have strong winds and blowing snow today....!

Saturday, strong winds and snow!

Strong wind means my house is almost moving... Steady winds of 50 kmh, and gusts of 110 kmh.
The good news is that today I am on the right side of the street! The snow is gathering on the other side of the road, hurrah!
I cleared my driveway last night, and the wind cleared the rest!

My new safety boots

Today's big event was going shopping for safety boots with the girls! And it turned out to be an unforgettable event! I have always thought the safety boots I got at work sites were extremely boring, and wide, as they always were men's boots. But today we went to Mark's Work Wearhouse, and guess what, they had women's boots! And it does not stop there, they even had pale pink boots! Fantastic!

Snow day or no snow day...?

Lots of snow and strong winds... And no way to clear the streets... Hmmmm! All the schools, university, banks and government offices are closed. But not our office.... I have worked from home for a few hours now, and the snow plows have still not been here.
I have been out trying to dig out my driveway, but in few minutes it's full of snow again! Think my only hope of making it in to work today is to go down to the main street and find a taxi!

Winter wonderland!

But cooooool... It has dropped to minus 10 over night, and windchill, so they say actual is around minus 20!
Better put on my thick jacket today and Kz fur hat to go out and dig out my driveway again! It was perfectly cleared last night, but the wind had played with it all night...

Back in SJ after Christmas!

And then the snow came!
Lots of it in a few hours!!
